On Monday, March 19, Mid-Cape Home Centers hosted Massachusetts State Senator Julian Cyr as part of the Northeastern Retail Lumber Association’s Legislative Yard Tour initiative, which connects lumberyards throughout the Northeast with their elected officials. Senator Cyr toured Mid-Cape Home Centers’ South Dennis location, including the custom millwork shop, lumberyard and estimating department, and met with company leaders, owner Jeff Plank and president Jack Stevenson, to discuss the needs of small businesses in the area.
Stevenson shares, “It’s refreshing to meet with the next generation of leaders and voice our concerns regarding the local economy. It’s clear Senator Cyr wants to make a difference. It makes you feel good about the direction being taken to address big picture issues facing the Cape and Islands.”
Owner Jeff Plank adds, “It was great to have Senator Cyr visit Mid-Cape. We are very enthused about his proposed streamlining and supportive changes to some of the building regulations in an effort to make improvements to the local housing market and Cape infrastructure.”
